In Memory

Rabb Warnock

After a lengthy illness, Rabb passed away September 2, 2014. Rabb and I grew up in church together, along with Margaret. This has really hit close to home. He was a great football star, but also a great man and husband. Thanks for you friendship, Rabb.

MY BEST MEMORIES ABOUT RABB IS FROM MY JUNIOR AND SENIOR YEAR AT GREENVILLE HIGH WHEN WE PLAYED FOOTBALL TOGETHER. LET ME CHANGE THAT TO WHEN RABB PLAYED FOOTBALL AS I WAS JUST THERE ON THE BENCH EXCEPT WHEN WE WERE FAR ENOUGHT IN THE LEAD TO LET US WANT TO BE'S IN THE GAME. RABB WAS A TRUE GENTLEMAN,QUIET EXCEPT WHEN HE WAS PLAYING FOOTBALL.I NEVER SAW HIM PICK ON ANYONE OR TALK BAD ABOUT SOMEONE,THE WHOLE TIME THAT I KNEW HIM. I LEFT GREENVILLE AFTER GRADUATION AND DID NOT REALLY GET TO TALK TO HIM PERSONALY AGAIN UNTIL OUR 50TH REUNION AND WAS AGAIN IMPRESSED WITH THE MAN. HE WILL BE MISSED IN ALL OF OUR HEARTS AND OUR THOUGHTS ARE WITH MARGARET IN HER TIME OF SORROW. ONE OF MANY OF HIS TEAM MATES.

Margaret, so sad to hear about Rabb.  I will be praying for you and your children.  I considered him a true friend.  We all grew up in the same church and I know that God had a mansion for him.

When in Jr High at EE Bass, I went out for football as did Rabb.  Rabb had a blue helmet, not the traditional white and maroon.  After a little bit of hitting, the coach told Rabb that he was going to get Rabb a better helmet.  As the saying goes, the rest is history.

Margaret,

I am sad to hear that Rabb has left us.  I had such respect for him.  I remember especially one class period in the seventh grade when our teacher had left the room.  We were all pretending to study and fooling around, goading Rabb for not playing along.  His response was, "I'm trying to study!"  And he was.  As you know he went on to make a real contribution to the Delta by staying in education at a time when many of the rest of us left the state for better options.  Now he is making his way to another dimension ahead of us.  I will enjoy reconnecting with him in God's good time.

Much love,

Richard Nourse

Margaret,

Please allow me to add my voice along with our classmates offering our condolences over the loss of Rabb. We all have our fond memories of him and share in your grief. Roger's comment reminded me of a childhood memory when we were playing Pee Wee football. I was a halfback and running untouched for what I thought would be my moment of football glory when I suddenly heard a thudering sound behind me and looked back to see Rabb about to pancake me! Rabb has left a wonderful legacy at MDCC and we will all miss him.

Yours Sincerely,

Josh

I remember when Rabb and I played pee wee football. I carried him to pratice on my bike a few times. We also had a get together with his sunday school class on Lake Ferguson sand bar with Mack Mooney who was his sunday school teacher. He kept every one laughing and made it hard to go to sleep. I wish I could have seen him before he passed away. He is with God now and that is the main thing. I lost close friend David Bagley and now Rabb. This is getting hard to take.

Margaret, I am greatly sadden by the loss of Rabb.  I can remember him in some of the classes we had together and he was always laughing and having a great time.  He would play jokes and act like he was an innocent bystander. What a great individual.  May he rest in peace from all pain and suffering. May the Lord give you and your family comfort in knowing that Rabb is with him now.
